University Place

Emergency plumber in University PlaceLakewood plus University Place, Steilacoom, DuPont and Fircrest, dispatched from one Lakewood base.
Our dispatch base is on Main Street SW in Lakewood. From there we answer emergency calls around the clock across Lakewood and four nearby towns, and each town has its own page covering its housing, water, sewer and permit situation.
Each page below covers one town: its housing mix, how it gets water and handles sewage, which office issues permits, and what that means when a pipe fails or a drain backs up. Use them to see what to expect before you call.

Emergency plumber in DuPontA compact city north of Lakewood with its own water and sewer utilities and a large share of 1950s through 1970s ramblers and split-levels.
Emergency plumber in FircrestWithin the city we dispatch to every neighborhood, including Tillicum beside American Lake, Woodbrook, Springbrook, Oakbrook, Lake City, Custer and the Downtown area around Lakewood Towne Center. The International District along South Tacoma Way and Pacific Highway SW is part of our regular route too.
Lakewood ZIP codes we serve include 98499, 98498 and 98439. Most addresses in the city draw water from the Lakewood Water District, though a few areas are served by other providers, so check your bill if you are unsure who supplies you.
One phone number covers every town. Tell the dispatcher your address and what is happening, and they will send the nearest available licensed plumber or book the first open appointment. For true emergencies, we dispatch right away at any hour.
Not every address near our boundaries is in range for an emergency, and the dispatcher will tell you honestly if we cannot reach you. If you live near Tacoma, Ruston or Spanaway and are not sure, call and ask. See the full list of services to know what we handle.
Sewer service is not the same everywhere. Most of Lakewood is sewered by Pierce County, Steilacoom runs its own town system, and Fircrest owns its mains. Knowing who owns the pipe tells you whom to notify if a blockage turns out to be in the public main rather than your own side sewer.
Water works the same way. Steilacoom buys its water from the Lakewood Water District, DuPont owns its water system and Fircrest runs its own water utility. If you need to shut the supply off at the street, ask your utility which valve is yours, and never turn a utility valve without their permission.
Housing age matters too. Many Fircrest homes are 1950s through 1970s ramblers and split-levels, and the city's own plan describes that stock. A plumber working in those houses plans for older drain and supply lines, and arrives with tools that fit.
Apartments, duplexes and small businesses are part of the route as well. Tell the dispatcher whether you own the unit or rent it, and who controls the building's main shutoff. A tenant can report the problem, but the owner or manager usually has to authorize the repair, so having that name and number ready saves a second call.
Give the dispatcher your street address, the nearest cross street and the town or neighborhood. Say if you are in a house, an apartment or a business, because access and shutoff locations differ.
Say what you see, hear and smell. Tell us whether you have shut off the main water valve and whether anyone is in danger. If you smell gas, leave first and call Puget Sound Energy or 911 from outside.
Lakewood addresses use ZIP codes 98499, 98498 and 98439. University Place uses 98467 and part of it uses 98466, which it shares with Fircrest. Steilacoom is 98388 and DuPont is 98327.
If your ZIP is not listed but you are close, call anyway. ZIP boundaries do not always match city limits, and the address is what matters for dispatch.
