What we do

Lakewood Express Plumbing is a 24/7 plumbing dispatch service on Main Street SW in Lakewood, Washington. When you call, a dispatcher asks what is happening, which fixtures are affected and where you are. Then we send a licensed plumber or book the first open appointment.

We built the service around the way plumbing problems actually arrive: late at night, over a weekend, or right before guests show up. Our job is to make the first call simple and the next steps clear.

How a call works

  1. You call

A dispatcher answers at any hour and asks a few quick questions about the problem.

  2. We dispatch

A licensed plumber is sent for emergencies, or you are booked for the first open slot.

  3. You hear the price

The plumber diagnoses the problem and gives you a clear price before work starts.

  4. You decide

You approve the work or decline it. Nothing starts until you agree.

How to check any plumber before you hire

Washington requires anyone doing plumbing work for hire to be certified through the state Department of Labor and Industries. The department offers an online tool called Verify a Contractor, Tradesperson or Business, which shows registration, plumber certification, workers' compensation status and bond lawsuits.

Use it on us and on anyone else you are thinking about. A few minutes of checking before a large repair is worth the effort.

What we do not do

We do not install or repair gas lines, pump septic tanks or manage remodeling projects. If you smell gas, leave the building and call Puget Sound Energy or 911 from outside. For septic systems, the Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department is the right authority, and we will say so on the phone if your problem belongs there.

Emergency or can it wait?

Call right now

  • Water you cannot stop or a pipe that has burst
  • Sewage or wastewater coming up through drains
  • No water at all, or a water heater leaking onto the floor

Book the first open slot

  • A dripping faucet or a running toilet
  • A slow drain that still empties
  • Planned work such as a new fixture or water heater swap

If you are not sure which side of the line your problem falls on, call and describe it. The dispatcher will tell you honestly whether it can wait for a regular appointment.

While you wait for the plumber

Find your main water shutoff valve before anyone arrives. It is usually where the supply line enters the house, often in a garage, basement, crawlspace or utility closet, or in a meter box near the street. Turning it clockwise stops the flow to the whole house.

Keep people and pets away from wet floors near outlets or appliances, and do not run drains that are backing up. Move rugs and valuables out of the wet area if it is safe to do so, and take photos for your insurer before cleanup starts.

How we think about pricing

Plumbing prices depend on access, materials, the time of day and what the plumber finds once the problem is open. A phone call cannot tell us all of that, so we do not quote a number we cannot stand behind.

What we do promise is the order of events. The plumber looks, explains the options, and gives you a clear price before work starts. You can approve it, ask questions or decline.
